Vitamix Grapefruit Smoothie
Here is a grapefruit.
I want to get as much whole food out of it as possible. So I only peel the skin,
and divide it into a few pieces.
Instead of chewing them all to get all the nutrients from whole food, I put them into Vitamix.
And after 30 seconds:
Now what's in the Vitamix is not just the fruit juice - this is whole food (less skin) including seeds, pulps, fibers, etc, the nutrients I can't get from the juice alone. By the way, the seeds disappear completely. Vitamix does a much better job than me chewing them. It says on the Vitamix website,

Vitamix Breakfast Smoothies
Whole Wheat Green Onion Sticks
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 C organic wheat berries
- 1 1/2 C water
- 1 bunch green onions
- 1 t raw sugar
- 1 T sea salt
- 1 t baking powder
Directions
- Divide wheat berries into 2 batches and use Vitamix dry container to grind them into whole wheat flour. It took about 1 1/2 minutes each.
- Cut green onions into pieces. Put them in Vitamix wet container, add water, and puree.
- Combine all ingredients and knead them into a dough.
- Roll the dough flat and cut it into small strips.
- Bake or deep fry in peanut oil at 350F until golden brown.
Whole Wheat Sweet Potato Sticks
Ingredients
- 3 1/2 C organic wheat berries

- 1 medium sweet potato
- 6 T raw sugar
- 1 t sea salt
- 1 t baking powder
- 1 T black sesame seed
- 1 t cinnamon powder
Directions

- Microwave sweet potato for 7 minutes. Keep skin. Cut it into a few pieces. Put them in Vitamix wet container, add water, and puree.
- Combine all ingredients and knead them into a dough.
- Roll the dough flat and cut it into small strips.
- Bake or deep fry in peanut oil at 350F until golden.
Vitamix Green Smoothie
Here are some sweet potato vines and pineapple chunks.
Put them in Vitamix and add some ice cubes.
And after 30 seconds.
Now I can simply drink it and get all the nutrients. And the best part is - there is no bitter flavor from the green!
